I struggle with a very strong anxiety and have always crumbled under any feeling of pressure which makes test taking near impossible for me. Even when I know the content, as soon as it is an exam, I lose my ability to preform in what I truly know. By having this program an Assignment and Project based form of showing knowledge is not only much more motivating, but it has really worked with how I learn. I am so impressed by the entire EA program Coastal College offers and will highly recommend it to anyone interested in becoming an EA.

This program was amazing. The course work is very relevant to what you will be doing in the practicum and overall easy to complete. The instructors are very helpful and accommodating in terms of assignments and projects. When completing my practicum the instructor was very supportive about my concerns and provided great feedback during my evaluation as well. I started my Education Assistant Course at CCBC in January, 2019. Prior to registering, I did quite a bit of research on different schools that offered this program. At that time, I was working full time and needed a program that was 100% online. CCBC was unique that I did not have to physically attend any sessions. I had prior experience in studying online, so I felt confident that this will work for me. All questions that I had were answered by the administration staff. I feel that the course is very well laid out to reach the learning outcomes for each subject. The assignment questions pushes me to have a deeper understanding on each topic. Each assignment requires the student to conduct a search for information on the internet. Thus the finished assignment Is a wealth of information and websites that I can come back to further pursue learning about the topic. The instructors are very quick to respond to questions and assignments. I do feel that online courses are not for everyone, but if you are a mature student, motivated to learn and ask questions, CCBC can provide a great learning experience to prepare you for the job.

Coastal College of British Columbia Education Assistant program ensures their students are adequately prepared for workplace expectations in any district across British Columbia. The course work is relevant to the job, and the assignments are clearly laid out and encourage deeper thinking regarding the subject matter. With a focus on current classroom needs and composition, strategies to support students, and roles and responsibilities of Education Assistants, I felt exceptionally prepared to accept a position within a school district. The instructors are quick to mark assignments and provide helpful feedback that opens a dialogue for reflection of the course work. I felt fully supported while doing my practicum and appreciated the flexibility from instructors with the course timelines.

I wanted to do this course for years, but I never had the time to go to college in person because I couldn’t drive, and I am a full-time mom for my little one. Having this course online is completely possible for me to do. The course was very enlightening and pleasurable. I learned a lot. I am very glad I took this course, and I received an A every time for all my assignments, and I had done my ECEA program too from same college and the instructors are really amazing, they respond very quickly through emails. Teachers monitor student feedback to ensure that the student have perfect understanding of the subject. Students are encouraged to present their ideas, comments and questions to their instructors. Teachers help the students broaden their scope of understanding by searching websites and listen to TD talk on different students special need subjects.

I completed ECEA 300 Child Health, Safety and Nutrition course at Coastal College of BC and upon completion got my Certification of ECEA. The learning process was very interesting and smooth. I got information about safety in the classroom, first aid, communication with children and much more. This course helped me to be more productive in my workplace.
